Easy Braided Chevron Friendship Bracelet

I've been really excited to share this project with you! I recently snagged a Ziploc sandwich bag stuffed full of embroidery thread at a yard sale and was thrilled! I've been wanting to try tying some bracelets so I had something to do as we were driving (we do tend to keep the road pretty hot!) or just something that I could do without it being too involved. I really oughta just take up crochet or something :)

Anyhow, so I looked up friendship bracelet tutorials on Pinterest and there are some great ones. Most of them are tied- where you actually loop and pull tight the thread around each strand over and over. I started that way and realized immediately that it was going to be far too time consuming for my taste! So, I came across a few that were braided instead. I specifically liked the thought of trying a fishtail braid to get a chevron, or arrow, type look. I love how these turned out! And they are seriously easy!

Fun Little Summer Videos

This summer, I've been taking a few little videos of fun things we've done. Sometimes it just seems more like the thing to do instead of a still shot, ya know? :) I know I sure haven't done great at taking video in the past! I recently uploaded them and thought I'd share here, if for no one else's enjoyment but mine and my family's. They sure make me smile! I know I always enjoy watching family videos from my childhood! I want to be able to put these somewhere that they can enjoy them when they're older too :)

Simple Back to School Teacher Stickers Gift

Back to School time it is! This year I've gotten lucky and Cooper doesn't start school until September 3. And Ryder will be starting preschool September 10- they are both so excited!

They recently helped me with a super simple gift to give their teachers. I had spotted these really cute reward stickers at Dollar Tree and had the thought that they would be something a teacher could honestly use- my favorite kind of gifts! Apple Projects with #myfavoritebloggers

Sometimes I see other bloggers doing fun things together and think "that would be so fun to be involved in!" That's exactly the way it was with this awesome new theme series I get to be involved in with some of #myfavoritebloggers. I thought a monthly themed collaboration would be fun and a good way to share lots of talent with you- I'm so thrilled to be part of this one! Pinwheel Lei Performance Gift

This last Spring when we were all walking in to the huge gym to watch my brother graduate with his Master's Degree, my Dad noticed several tables with organizations selling flower arrangements that could be given to the graduates. He commented that if it were one of his girls graduating, he'd buy some. But, ya know, it was my brother and flowers would've been more awkward than not...

Then earlier this summer, we went to watch Keaton perform in a play that was the culmination of a summer theater camp he attended. I knew I wanted to be able to give him something when we walked out to greet the cast after it was over and came up with this fun pinwheel lei! I liked that I could drape it over his head without any hassle and that it would be something he wouldn't have to hold. Maybe by some luck, it became a keepsake reminder of the play and his experience in the camp :)
