WdW Giveaway and My Take on Why

Quite awhile back I mentioned that I had started exchanging handmade items on a fun site called whoopdwhoop. Well it was really fun and exciting! It's nice when the things I make are enjoyed by others and when, in return, I can pick out handmade things for myself and the boys that I just wouldn't buy otherwise. I love packaging up what I send- it really is super fun. :)

For awhile, I actually only participated very little, but have recently started doing more again. One neat thing about swapping handmade items is that you're not just focused on your own stuff and your own success. The real thrill is seeing what new things have been listed for grabs and what other crafters are doing! It's also nice to have the option to be involved to the degree you can manage, rather than the pressure of having to do more than you really want to.

Anyhow, one of my fellow crafters on whoopdwhoop is having a
Challenge/ Giveaway at her cute little blog, Sweetly Made Just for You,
to help whoopdwhoop grow even more!

and I will throw in a set of my matchbook notepads and a Little Cinch Backpack!

If you have any inkling to try it out, you can get some
cool, handmade prizes on top of the fun of participating!
Give whoopdwhoop a look-
no doubt you have talents that could make it fun for you too!

whoopdwhoop blog today

I do have something in mind for my normal Meaningful Monday today, but won't be able to get to it until later... in the meantime, today my bib clip tutorial is being featured on the whoopdwhoop blog! Click HERE to check it out and make sure to browse around whoopdwhoop while you're at it!

My latest swapping addition and quite possibly the cutest thing I've ever sewn:

Added a fun ruffle to this little drawstring backpack! Yet again, great fabrics from Mom- this little treasure just makes me smile! I'm anxious to see how long it lasts!

Fun Additions

It's been awhile since I've added anything new to Etsy and it was getting a bit sparse, so I just added these adorable little guys...

I LOVE sewing these little drawstring backpacks! Many more to come no doubt! I tried some new things with these most recent versions, making them tougher and cuter! (I love this great checkerboard fabric I got from my Mom.) I started with this tutorial from Prudent Baby.

Also made Cooper an updated pack of his own using some Transformers flannel he picked out on a Walmart trip awhile back. He's been putting rocks and money and small shells in it for two days straight now!

To check out my shop, you can click HERE. :) Use coupon code CRE8SPRING to get 20% off!

And this cute Mary Engelbreit version is on it's way to whoopdwhoop... Also fabric from Mom- lucky me, awesome her :)

Bow Tied Boys

Yet another one of those things that can be called "cute" but still apply to boys- Bow Ties!  Awhile back I got the boy's some fun little bow ties through whoopdwhoop and they love them! They got to wear them to church yesterday and were about as handsome as they could get =)

Coop was ready early to go to choir with Dad and Ry wasn't yet, but thought he needed his pic taken too =) So stinkin' cute- he gives me the biggest smile!

About the same time I had gotten these ones, I decided I wanted one that would actually tie. I followed the most amazing tutorial from Delia Creates to make this one:

I can't remember what the bribe was for Coop to put on his church shirt and model for me, but I do remember there was one! =) The bow tie itself was no problem, just the shirt. He's actually been wearing the bow tie like the greatest accessory ever:

The robot we concocted that needed to match his =)

 In jammies at breakfast...

Playing outside (in both his bow ties no less!)...

Church shirt, check. Pants? Not even, Mom. And no, I don't need to comb my hair...
Balloons, softie play pants and bow ties- wow, I  love being a boy mama!

That tutorial for the bow ties will even teach you how to tie it using her sock monkey, above! I'll be busy these next few days making more of these for the boys' Easter baskets (even Taron and Keaton!) and to wear to church next week, along with some matching suspenders!

Cute and boys in the same sentence??
No doubt!

Springy Camera Strap Covers

Pretty fabric makes me smile :)
These are my newest addition to both Etsy and whoopdwhoop- fun camera strap covers! Don't those fabrics just make you feel a little more cheery?! These were each fun to work with and I padded them with fusible fleece, which was fun stuff to use too! One of my favorite things I've sewn yet- the purple one is going onto my own camera as soon as I'm done posting... :)

And each one has an adorable fabric flower for some added cute! I followed this tutorial at Ruffles and RicRac for these flowers. They are so fun to make and a great way to use small pieces!
