Mason Jar Wine Glasses Tutorial

Who else out there loves Duck Dynasty?? We are definitely fans around here! (Maybe not so much a fan of the major over-abundance of Duck Dynasty gear you see in the stores, though... but that's another thought train all together!)

From the very first time I ever saw the Robertson clan drinking out of mason jar wine glasses during one of their characteristic family dinners, I knew I wanted to make some myself.  I love how these fun glasses turned out and they are super easy to make. 

Snow Doesn't Always Have to Be White

It seems like everyone's wishin' for Spring about now... and we are no exception!

Alas, there is still plenty of snow here at our Idaho home...

snow that has been around for awhile now, though.

Which means it's no longer capable of snowmen building or really even snow fort building.

But it's just about perfect for... spraying!

He needs these crazy birds in order to be happy it seems :)

Boys Treasure Pocket Scarves

I recently made these cute scarves for the boys using this tutorial from Living With Punks.

They found them in their mailboxes one morning :)

I liked how bright and fun they turned out!

I knew the boys would like the treasure pocket on the back of them and,

indeed, that was the highlight!

Happy Valentines Day!

I can't wait for the boys to wake up to their Valentines Treasure Hunt! I also can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, my Valentine. Didn't we look cute down in Mexico six years ago?! I always put this pic up as part of our Valentine decor :)

Pretty Well Random

I've got several different boredom buster/ what we've been up to lately type posts

all ready to go... well, the photos are edited at least...

but, ya know, I'm kind of in the mood for just a random type of post.
So here you have my inner dialogue out for some air I guess. :)

1) Why do I want this blog to grow? I can't say I ever had the intention for my little half-a-blip of the internet to be something that would make money. I can say with absolute surety that competition is NOT what drives me...ever. And there is a massive lot of it in crafty mommy blogville. I have a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Advertising... and a hefty discomfort with networking on the side... nice, eh? So, why oh why do I make moves to help this blog grow, to get anyone beyond my own family members see what I share here? I think I've decided that this blog really just gives me something to do... I feel kinda vulnerable saying that, but I guess that's it. Like my intro says, it's a place that makes me happy... so I guess that's it too :) Maybe somewhere along the way a little income as a result and a few more skills in the social department wouldn't be such a bad thing either... :)

2) Today during a Phineas and Ferb re-run, they were at a mall and got all excited seeing the old kiddie toys they used to ride on. Phineas remembers himself being a super cool astronaut during the ride. Zoom out to his older self riding the barely-moving rocket ship and he says, "In retrospect, I may have over-romanticized those memories." Still makes my totally laugh! Who does that statement not ring a bell with?!

Valentine Happy Mail

I love sending Valentines mail!

Last year I got to send a fun package to a super talented lady I now consider a friend,

Kadie from Seven Alive. I was excited when I saw a similar type of thing happening at Create.Craft.Love!

Winter Boyville

It was full-on Boyville last weekend with Taron and Keaton here and the Superbowl to boot!

 Somewhere in the mix Ryder put his pool noodle toy around  his head and said, "Mama, I'm a lion!" :)

Oh and the lack of shirt in January?

He loves having his shirt off, not necessarily the pants, just the shirt.

Earlier he asked me if I would please take shirt off for him "so I can be a ninja."

And now I get it... and have melted even further over my baby :)

Valentines Flashback

It occurred to me recently that Valentines season is always a pretty full time for us- we do a lot of projects together and I do quite a bit on my own too! I love the creative energy I always get- somehow late winter isn't quite so overwhelming as Christmas I guess. :)
