Easter Fun (aka. Ice, Ice Baby and a Major Egg Fight)
This year we hosted my extended family at our house for our annual Easter egg hunt! Lundyn and I had boiled a bunch of eggs, and combined them with a bunch that weren't boiled at all. The kids cracked them over each others heads and ended up having an all out messy egg war in the yard- they loved it! They boys were a yolky, slimy mess! I doubt my family agrees, but I think this might just need to be regular part of our annual get together :)

Simple 80's Style Bracelet Made With Duck® Tape
This last little while I've been getting ready to go to SNAP! Conference this weekend- a chance to connect with other bloggers and just have a little break while learning in the process :) One night of the event is an 80's dance party sponsored by Duck® Tape.
You might've already known, but my husband is ten years older than I am. He was graduating high school when I was in the second grade! Weird when you think of it in those time frames, eh? It's a good thing in our case, since I'm still more mature than he is- ha! ;)
Anyhow, he was a crazy teenager during the 80's...
Ha, ha! (and, believe it or not, my brother-in-law is also in this picture!). Anyhow, it goes without saying that he has the ability to give me some good (or maybe it's NOT so good) style prompts to get ready for the 80's shindig at SNAP. Crazy, but he says he really doesn't remember a lot of neon, and that everyone actually wore a lot of black. We've been searching for some inspiration photos and had some good laughs.

Upcycled, No-Sew Kids Fun and More
I love upcycling projects- taking something that might have otherwise been garbage and make it new, or using something in a way that's not really what it was originally intended for. My boys do a lot of upcycling on their own- they take containers and tape and a whole new piece of art is formed- ha! :)
This month a few of my blogger friends and I are each sharing upcycled projects:
Crochet Rug from T-shirts from One Dog Woof
Rustic Mason Jar Vase from Suburble
Wipes Container to Craft Storage from It Happens in a Blink
Fabric Crochet Coaster Pattern from Petals to Picots
Upcycled Newspaper Beads from Do Small Things with Love
DIY Silverware Kitchen Clock from The Benson Street

Home Based Memories
Watching a movie on Dad's iPad in a fort during Spring Break :)
When we think back on our childhoods, what comes to mind first, or most? I know for me, it's not always the same thing, but it seems like the memories that I do recall first are the simple ones. They are of fun pretend trips in the broke down Toyota, riding the four wheeler to check pivots, mud pies in the playhouse, pushing kitties dressed up as dolls, riding bikes around our house, being together in our basement playroom.
My parents took our family on trips and we were involved in lots of great hobbies. But somehow those memories always follow these more simple, home-based ones. I like that. Like knowing that moments like the ones in this post, where our life proves to be really quite uneventful, are actually kinda special. :)
This above is the Tale of the Time I Attempted to Re-arrange the Furniture. The boys played swords with kitchen utensils all the while, obviously. And about all that really came of it was my entire floor getting a good vacuuming... :/ I'm no interior designer- I couldn't figure out how to make our weird couch work anywhere but where it was, so back it all went- ha ha!

Game Night Pizza and Breadstick Skewers with #tonyspizzeria
This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and
Tony’s Pizza, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #tonyspizzeria http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
What is it about Monday that's just not the greatest?
Maybe the fact that it's not the weekend anymore- ha!
Stephen works a lot, (maybe even more so on Friday and Saturday!) but even so, we really try to do something fun on the weekends too. We love inviting people over for games specifically- seems like it's just kinda what we do for something more out of the ordinary than just our own family group.
We've been blessed with friends that are great to jump in at our invites. They make for really fun company- it feels so good to just laugh and relax! This last weekend, I cooked up a bunch of Tony's Pizza that I picked up from Walmart, and made my yummy breadsticks to go with the fun.
Truth: lots of times when we are hosting a party, I tend to go overboard. Friends get to the house and comment about the spread of food, even though I've been feeling all afternoon like it might not be enough! We might kinda plan more than is reasonable oftentimes. We can't just grill hamburgers, no! We gotta have grilled shrimp and smoked baked potatoes and homemade fry sauce and fancy juice and cheesecake brownies too! It's just our style and our pleasure, I guess :)
But this change of pace, sticking to the pizza and breadsticks, was pretty nice for sure- simple and fast, not to mention cheaper. I used a coupons.com coupon for 75 cents off two (while supplies last) that made it an especially good deal. Plus, a new crispier, crunchier crust, topped with real cheese and sauce made from real tomatoes sounded yum!

Double Stuffed Lemon Garlic Chicken with Kraft Fresh Take
I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community.

#FreshTake #CollectiveBias
I've had the thought to share this recipe for quite awhile- it's a surprisingly easy favorite that's great for average nights or special occasions both. This time around I tried out a Kraft Fresh Take meal kit that honestly made it even more simple (I'll never complain about that)!
Growing up, Sunday dinner was a pretty big deal around our house. It was the nicest meal of the week. I love the idea up continuing that tradition for my own family... but, in truth, Sunday seems to fall more toward smorgasbord for us. We get home from Church and gather around our kitchen island to a spread of leftovers, finger foods and easy options. I actually really like this way of things too :)
But for special Sundays like Easter, that simply won't do- it's a perfect time to prepare something more special to acknowledge the holiday. I love creating fun table spreads, but being surrounded by boys who really don't care at all about the centerpiece, and just want to mow down the food already, means I gotta take whatever opportunity I can get to make a meal special! :)
For Easter, we usually get together with my whole family- that's us above (a blast from Easter weekend past)! We have a great potluck meal and some fun Easter egg hunts around the yard. This was the first year my Mom and Dad starting hiding eggs for us adults- that's been a fun new tradition!
Anyhow... a Spring gathering of your favorite people, like Easter always is for us, would be a great time to concoct a yummy, seemingly involved but actually simple dish like this Double Stuffed Lemon Garlic Chicken. Like I mentioned, this time I tried Kraft Fresh Take that I picked up at Walmart:
I bought my chicken with a Fresh Take coupon that gave me a $1.00 off! Through April, or as long as the prints last, you can save when you buy the two together- perfect, since, ya know, you kinda need both :)

Wood Creations of Idaho Falls Mothers Day "Family' Blocks and Giveaway
I honestly love going in to the Wood Creations of Idaho Falls store each month to pick what to create and share. It's really just a fun, bright place that leaves me feeling happy :) The ladies that work there are fun and comfortable- they make customers feel like friends :)
Today my fellow Idaho blogger friends over at Fearlessly Creative Mamas and I are both sharing Wood Creations projects the would make great Mother's Day gifts. Then, we get to give away one of each of these very kits! (That's the best part, I know) :) Fearlessly Creative Mama's has a bunch of one year anniversary giveaways going on- you'll have lots of chances to enter over there for a variety of great prizes!
Anyhow, I created the 'Family' blocks above and Kathleen made these below...
These two kits are up for grabs in the Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post! First, though, I wanna walk you through how seriously easy it easy to make this particular kit as a gift. This is the most simple Wood Creations project I've ever put together and I really love how it turned out....
