Wood Creations of Idaho Falls 'Land of the Free' Kit Giveaway

Hooray- it's time to decorate with all that Red, White and Blue! This time of year seems to have an energy about it that I can't help but love :) Today I'm sharing this super simple, but super catchy 'Land of the Free' plaque from Wood Creations of Idaho Falls and even giving one away...

There are a lot of Independence Day themed wood kits from Wood Creations that I really love- I always have a hard time choosing. But really, this time seemed particularly hard. I finally fell upon this plaque and really love how it turned out. It is one of the easier kits I've ever done. The white one above was the display in the store, but I knew I wanted to put blue on the back instead.

Dressing my Truth with the Inspiring Carol Tuttle

Thanks to Dressing Your Truth for sponsoring this post.

Don't get me wrong, I've buzzed in to town in my stretch pants once or twice. ;) And if I'm not going anywhere that day, you'll find me in a ponytail and one of my husband's t-shirts. But, otherwise, I really don't like feeling un-done. I don't put any great length of time into my clothes, make up or hair generally, but I do make sure to put enough that I feel decent about how I look when I leave the house.

The thing of it is, I honestly have never been really taught just what to wear or how to do my makeup. I've just kinda adapted and tried things over the years. When I had the chance to check out an online program called Dressing Your Truth™, I was intrigued and decided that I'd give it a try and hopefully learn something that would be worth sharing.

And then, I got the book in the mail...

.. and, oh my goodness, that's Carol Tuttle. My Mom has talked about her for years and I have her book Remembering Wholeness. I've already really enjoyed and resonated with this awesome lady and her expertise regarding emotional healing and wellness- I knew I was going to love this program! Knowing it was Carol behind all of it, I couldn't wait to dive in.

Inspiring Creativity Link Up

Hello hello again! Heather from Twin Dragonfly Designs and I are glad you're here and look forward to seeing what's been going on this last week :)

Anchor crochet pattern

From last week, I loved this neat crochet anchor from Petals to Picots. To be sure, Heather is the crochet queen of the two of us :) But, I seem to be forever wishing I could crochet better and more and keeping saving up ideas to make someday- this one is now among them. :) Thanks for sharing and joining us, Kara!

And now for this week!

Take it Outside, Boys

For real, I don't say that all too often.
I've kinda just had to give in to the fact that wrestling and chasing will be a big part of indoor life already!
It's just that we've been spending more time outside naturally lately, is all :)

Ok, so, ya... obviously guns I make them take outside ;)
We travel west to hit the desert for some shooting fun on Saturday mornings fairly regularly it seems. I should say the boys kinda drag me along... This very day Stephen was actually heading that direction to go shooting and I was heading opposite to do some shopping alone. I really like shopping alone, honestly. But on the way... my heart just kinda started to tug or something. The thought came to my mind, "What will really fulfill me?"

I've been thinking on that a bit lately- trying to motivate myself to be more motivated in general I guess. So, I turned around and met him in his tracks. I didn't really want to, honestly. I wanted to just shop and be alone. But I wanted to feed my soul even more. And these boys do that for me. Lately it's felt like when Taron and Keaton are with us, I'm breathing fully for that stint of time or something. Hasn't always been that way... but it is now. They complete me as a Mom :)

Inspiring Creativity Link Party

Hello hello again friends! Heather from Twin Dragonfly Designs and I are glad you're here to hopefully share what you've been up to lately :)

From last week's shares, I thought these Boston Cream Croissants from Thirty Five Ninety Five looked amazing! I just started a new effort to cut bread out of my diet- yikes! So, this may be for a particularly reward-deserving day or something, but still, I couldn't resist! She shares a simple recipe and some great photos in her post :)

Creamy Yellow Cake Bars {Quick and Easy Recipe}

Delicious Creamy Yellow Cake Mix Bars-so easy!

Quite a few years ago I first made these yummy cake mix bars for my family and just recently made them again. Why I haven't shared on the blog before I'm not sure- this one is a definite keeper!

These are really simple and fast... and really creamy and yummy. I think I first started making these when I was scrambling to make the few ingredients I had in the cupboard work (ya know, like I pretty much always seem to have to do) :)

Easy Camping Activity Bags and More

My boys seem to start asking about when we're going camping again sometime between Halloween and Thanksgiving! Same with the beach- little Ryder could live on the shore! And now that it's getting warm, it's on all of our minds again! Each year we always hope to get more camping in and are happy to take what we can get :)

So, obviously, I'm excited to be part of today's fun camping themed blog hop just in time- so many great ideas here that will be really helpful for the entire season:

Simple Stenciled Pillowcase with Tulip for Your Home

I received products and compensation for this post. Opinions and thoughts shared are entirely mine, of course...

Ya know, oftentimes I really wish I painted more. (Did lots of things more really- ha!) Recently I was sent an awesome box of great new Tulip For Your Home products- textile paints, stencils, adhesive, roller brush and a pillowcase ready to be decorated.

Wish to paint more granted! So today I'm sharing how you can design and create your own pillow too. I think you (and me, too) should do more of what makes you happy... and I really think this project is one that will! :)

Fast and Easy Mother's Day Gift >>> "Less Dishes" Printable Update

My original tag for this "Less Dishes" Mother's Day gift was made in a huge hurry! Every time I see it in my sidebar or on Pinterest, I have the thought that I'd love to do an update and offer a more versatile version. So, this year, I did! (Yet again, only just barely in time for Mother's Day!)

This gift is great for putting together inexpensively and quickly, perhaps for the "other" Mothers in your life, like neighbors, sister-in-laws, etc.

This year I used a quatrefoil stencil background and some fun arrows, along with more color options- these five above :) Print a document with all five colors included HERE. Enjoy!

Adorable Little Nail Polish Gift Favor

This craft honestly feels a good ways out of my normal. Nail polish and boys... makes sense I'd say so, eh?! I'm actually not even particularly big on painting my own nails, or maybe at being able to keep them looking pretty at least...

But, I recently needed a small gift that I could hand out easily and without too much detail. I had found a box of these adorable, tiny little nail polish bottles and paper crafted these simple favors. Thought I'd share a short tutorial in case they might be of use to anyone hosting a party or needing a small, basic gift as well :)
