I honestly love going in to the Wood Creations of Idaho Falls store each month to pick what to create and share. It's really just a fun, bright place that leaves me feeling happy :) The ladies that work there are fun and comfortable- they make customers feel like friends :)
Today my fellow Idaho blogger friends over at Fearlessly Creative Mamas and I are both sharing Wood Creations projects the would make great Mother's Day gifts. Then, we get to give away one of each of these very kits! (That's the best part, I know) :) Fearlessly Creative Mama's has a bunch of one year anniversary giveaways going on- you'll have lots of chances to enter over there for a variety of great prizes!
Anyhow, I created the 'Family' blocks above and Kathleen made these below...
These two kits are up for grabs in the Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post! First, though, I wanna walk you through how seriously easy it easy to make this particular kit as a gift. This is the most simple Wood Creations project I've ever put together and I really love how it turned out....
The kit will come with these very pieces above. I picked the patterned papers below at Wood Creations... the papers there might be my very favorite part ;) Start creating by putting blocks and papers in order and tracing...
Trim your papers with a paper cutter while your painted wooden blocks are drying. I chose just two colors of paint, though at Wood Creations their example used several...
With the paint dry, I sanded the edges of the wood- this is totally optional, I just like that look :) Then I chalked the edged of the papers...
And Mod Podged them both to the wood and then over the top of the paper like above. While that is drying, cut your vinyl 'Family' letters apart to be able to put each one on its own block. The bottom phrase portion will stay the same and simple need placed onto the long wood board.
With that, you're done! See what I mean about easy?! I can think of several of our Mothers and Grandmas that would love receiving this as a gift. I think this very one will be my Mother in Law's :)
And just to emphasize that indeed, wonderful family life doesn't have to mean having things all together, I thought I'd zoom out a bit...
Ha, ha :) Laundry is, for real, the bane of my existence! Never together around here
So enough of that....
Time to enter to win one of these two kits! Two winners will be drawn from this Rafflecopter- good luck!
